Outstanding and beautiful glassy partly transparent to translucent deep amber colored tabular barite crystals forming an aesthetic 6.0 x 5.0 x 2.2 cm cluster without matrix. An excellent fluorite specimen for this noted locality, the specimen consisting of a 6.0 x 4.7 x 3.2 cm matrix, the top scattered with small crystals of quartz and pyrite. Over these are lustrous gemmy color zoned crystals of fluorite to 1.2 cm on edge. The fluorite crytals are almost colorless on the edges, but with purple phantom crystals the overall appearance is that of purple fluorite crystals. I can find one minor crystal with a cleaved corner; overall I feel that this is in excellent condition damage-wise. Sits perfectly for display by itself. Ex Lloyd Tate collection.
